Bernardi was named vice president of winemaking in 2014, the first in Duckhorn Wine Company’s four-decade history, making him responsible for its entire brand portfolio: Duckhorn Vineyards, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Decoy, Canvasback, Calera and Kosta Browne. With a keen interest in the effects of geography and climate on grape growing, he guides all aspects of winemaking across the portfolio’s properties as well as helping to oversee nearly 700 acres of grapes across California and Washington. Bernardi was key in establishing a Sonoma County presence for the Napa-based company, achieved through the acquisition of prominent sites like the Ridgeline and Brownell Vineyards.
