With over 80 years of family tradition behind him, Vittorio Marzotto is no stranger to the fascination for wine culture. Inspired in early-childhood by his great-grandfather Gaetano’s invaluable contributions to the Italian wine industry, Vittorio continues to pass on this legacy today.
In 1935, Count Gaetano Marzotto established the first Italian agri-business group that included crops, livestock, glass container production, and wine-making; most notably, Santa Margherita in the Eastern countryside of Venice. Since then, the Marzotto family enthusiastically carried forward their passion for viticulture, creating a portfolio of wine that embraces some of Italy’s premier growing regions. Through Vittorio’s studies of Economics and wine all over the world, he gained further appreciation for viticulture, terroir, different winemaking styles, and the needs and trends of the modern global wine market. In 2010 Vittorio moved to the US and began promoting the stories of the Marzotto family’s wineries, currently all under the import umbrella of Santa Margherita USA.
Today, Vittorio serves as the Director of Brand Development for the intriguing mosaic of wine brands represented by the Santa Margherita USA company: Franciacorta with Ca’ del Bosco, Alto Adige with Kettmeir, Trentino-Alto Adige, Eastern Veneto and Prosecco with Santa Margherita, Chianti Classico with Lamole di Lamole, Maremma Toscana with Tenuta Sassoregale, Sicily with Feudo Zirtari and the recent acquisitions in Sardinia with Cantina Mesa and Lago di Garda with Ca’ Maiol.
